Cheeni Khaane' - Mirrors in Arched Frames
Blind Arcades have been used over the centuries as an element of decoration on building facades.
We found inspiration for this piece in the recessed niches on the walls of Lahore fort and the intricately decorated arches in the walls of Sheesh Mahal.
The design of an arch is a complex exercise where geometry meets art.
This piece, seeped in nostalgia is a combination of 9 arches inspired from a wide array of architectural traditions arranged in a style reminiscent of the Cheeni Khane found in Mughal Gardens.
